Food Pyramid - Biggest Irony of Human History

Everyone has seen the food pyramid. If not, take a very careful look at the food pyramid below.

Everything looks fine and dandy? If you were like me, you’d think it made total sense and I was adhering to such beautiful guideline set by our health authority. After all, we elected our government and the competent scientists to help us make sense of the complication world. We can surely trust them, right? Wrong!

This food pyramid is very very wrong. Too bad I had to find out the hard way. So what’s wrong with it?

* Vegetable group should be at the bottom. And only the leafy greens. Any tuber (potatoes, yam, etc) should be avoided if possible.

* Next higher up should be fruit. Some fruits contains a lot of fructose, which you should not over-indulege if you’re diabetic.

* Next higher up after fruit should be meat, fish, and nuts. i.e., fat and proteins.

The only thing this pyramid got it right is at the top. Sweet and vegetable oil should be avoided.
